Education and Employment
       Hongsheng Fang graduated from college in 1953 and got his postgraduate degree in 1956. He worked as a doctoral supervisor in Department of Material Science and Technology, Tsinghua University for many years and worked as visiting professor in Department of metallurgy engineering and Material Science, Carnegie Mellon University, America in 1987. Also, he was the managing director of Material Society of Chinese Society of Metal, the chairman of Academic Committee of Phase Transition, the director of Material Society of China Ordnance Society, the Director of Bainite Steel Research and Extension Center.
Research Interests
       Professor Fang had been working on the research and teaching in metallography and field of metal material for many years. He invented novel Mn series bainite steels, which became one of the two international air-cooled bainite steel series. In recent years, Professor Fang’s research of grain refinement of aluminum alloy reached the world advanced level.
