The
manufacturing method of bainitic steels
containing manganese is different from that
of traditional air-cooled bainitic steels
which can only be obtained by adding expensive
molybdenum, tungsten etc.
Moreover,
compared with bainitic steel containing
molybdenum, those containing manganese have
such many advantages as higher air-cooling
hardenability, lower bainite transformation
temperature(Bs), good combination of strength
with toughness, simple alloying and low
cost.
Professor
Hongsheng Fang and his research team have
developed medium-carbon, medium high carbon
bainitic steels containing manganese or
Mn-B with different properties and applications.
