Abstract：
 The light orientating layer polyurethane material containing chalcone in its main chain is prepared through synthesis of chalcone, synthesis of chlorohydrin, synthesis of hydroxyalkyl chalcone ether and polyurethane and final preparation of LCD light orientating layer. By means of the process, 4,4'-dihydroxy chalcone, various chlorohydrin and dihydroxyalkyl chalcone are synthesized; and light orientating layer polyurethane material containing chalcone in its main chain is obtained via linear polymerization with various diisocyanate. When the material is observed in polarizing microscope, the field of view is found to be homogeneous, and when the liquid crystal box is rotated, obvious brightness change may be observed in the field of view.
