Abstract:
Preparation of olefin polymer/calcium carbonate composite nano powders with higher grafting rate and grafting efficiency is carried out by: using CaCO3 powders pretreated by coupling agent and olefin monomer as raw materials, and emulsion polymerizing them in water as dispersing medium with existence of emulsifier and initiator. In pretreatment, dosage of the coupling agent is 1 -10wt% of CaCO3 mass. In emulsion polymerization, their weight percentage is as below: olefin monomer (63.4 - 97.9), CaCO3 powders (1 - 30), emulsifier (1 - 6), and initiator (0.1 - 0.6). The nano powders have inorganic CaCO3 as cores and organic olefin polymer as shells in spherical or elliptical ball with granular size distribution <100nm as well as high grafting rate and characteristics prepared by high grafting efficiency.
