Abstract:
SiC/SiO2 composite oxidation coating is prepared on surface of graphite in use for nuclear reactor by procedures of combining gas phase reaction, paste coating and high temperature oxidation. Under atmosphere of containing silicon vapor, high temperature processing is carried out for graphite in use for nuclear reactor so as to obtain SiC coat possessing proper transition layer. Paste of silicon powder is coated onto surface of graphite sample with SiC coat being prepared, and high temperature processing is carried out for the said sample under inert protective gas. Liquid silicon penetrates into aperture gaps of SiC coat, making coat densification further. SiC/SiO2 composite oxidation coating on surface of graphite is prepared after high temperature processing graphite sample with compact SiC being coated in air. Features of the method are simple, low cost, and easy of volume-produce.
