Abstract：
 The frequency synthesizer is composed of loop filters made from digital unit modules, analog unit modules integrated in a chip by using CMOS technique, and components outside chip. Digital unit module includes programmable counters R, P, and S, three wires serial interface circuit, shift register and power consumption controller. Analog unit module includes frequency phase discriminator, dual mode pre-frequency divider, voltage controlled oscillator, charge pump and constant transconductance source. Features are: through three wires serial interface, reference frequency, output frequency and magnitude of current of charge pump can be selected. Function of selecting inner voltage controlled oscillator or outer voltage controlled oscillator and power consumption control are provided. Thus, the synthesizer possesses large flexibility, suitable to various communication systems.
