Abstract:
Said invented belongs to optoelectronics technique field. Said surface plasma wave refractive index detecting chip is composed of special metallic film and special refractive index medium, said metallic film attached at said medium, generating long range surface plasma wave through said metallic film end pumping method, detecting metal surface above medium refractive index variation through determining said long range surface plasma wave transmission loss. Said metallic film is a film of any kind of metal of gold, silver, aluminum, copper, titanium, nickel, and chromium with thickeness restricted in 10-100 nm, said metallic film below site dielectric refractive index restricted in 1.2-3.8.Due to said invention utilizing long range surface plasma wave to proceed refractive index detecting, the detecting object is not space reflection light angle in tradition technology but transmission loss, at the same time, long range surface plasma wave can be excited through optical fiber face to face coupling method, thereby space incident light control part can be saved, which provides possibility to realize integrated refractive index detector.
