Abstract:
The invention relates to the method of producing highly pure compact MgAlON ceramics and the highly pure compact MgAlON ceramics. Its method makes MgO, Al2O3 and AlN as raw materials, ball mills into mixed powder material, adopts electric discharge plasma sintering technology, through suitable sintering craft to produce highly pure compact MgAlON ceramics of certain chemical components. It realizes the fast and highly effective preparation of highly pure and highly compact MgAlON ceramics which was hard to realize in traditional method. It can produce high pure or single-phase compact MgAlON ceramics of superhigh speed at lower temperature. The content of MgAlON phase in the prepared highly pure compact MgAlON ceramics is 95% - 100%, its relative density is 92% - 99%, and its volume density is 3.4 - 3.8 g/cm3. it can be widely applied in fire-proof material and high technology ceramics field.
