Abstract：
 The invention is a vertical high speed primary gearbox, relating to the field of design technique of reduction gear of a high temperature gas-cooled reactor generating system with direct helium gas turbine cycle, characterized in that it comprises: box body, high speed gear shaft extending from the bottom of the box body into it, and low speed shaft parallel with the high speed gear, where the low speed shaft engages with the high speed gear shaft through a low speed gear with a radius greater than that of the gear of the high speed gear shaft, the high speed gear shaft is fixed with the box body through two sliding bearings, and the low speed shaft is fixed with the box body through two thrust bearings; the box body is provided with sealing device and lubricating system. The invention is simple in structure, and convenient to install, and reduces device manufacturing expenses because of avoiding the use of high speed electric motor and inverter in the system.
