Abstract:
A semiconductor laser with step tuning and composite external cavity features that the collimation lens and planar reflector are arranged at both sides of semiconductor laser chip. Its planar reflector is composed of fixed and movable reflectors, so forming the composite laser resonator with dual external cavities. Moving planar reflector along axle can sequentially coincide the longitudinal modes with different orders of two external cavities, so realizing step tuning of single-mode output laser frequency. Its advantages are with turning range and more channels (up to tens).
