Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for testing insulator remote surface corona based on an optical amplifier including: a, aligning an optical location system to a discharge position of a being tested compound insulator to get an ultraviolet signal generated by weak discharging along the surface of the insulator to be amplified by the optical amplifier and converted to an electric signal to be collected, stored and analyzed by a computer with a data collection method to decide the corona position and acute state of its discharge.
