Abstract：
 The invention involves a method to transform the extensible markup language document tree to compact inquiry tree, which belongs to network data processing technology area. First, traverse the extensible markup language document tree according to the user given keywords, delete isolated nodes and nodes that do not contain the user keywords to get the extensible markup language document inquiry tree; traverse the inquiry tree to delete the structure node that contains only one child, meanwhile, keep the connecting edge between the child node of the structure node and the parent node of the structure node.
