Abstract:
A narrow pulse fiber amplifier belongs to the laser technology field. The fiber amplifier contains the seed source laser, the seed optical coupling system, the gain fiber, the pumped source laser and the pumped coupling system, and the feature is that between the seed source laser and the gain fiber adding the pulse issued by the seed source laser to choose the pulse selector. The selected pulse sequence has the arbitrarily changing repetition frequency, and duration, through the high gain amplification of the fiber amplifier to obtain high-power, narrow pulse width laser pulse output. The invention has the advantages that it makes full use of the narrow pulse width of the seed source laser and the wide gain spectrum and high gain of the fiber amplifier, and adding the pulse selector to make the pulse repetition frequency and duration to be free to change. The invention can obtain narrow pulse width pulse sequence of low repetition frequency, whose single pulse energy and peak power can be significantly improved, but also avoiding the stimulated Brillouin scattering effect.
