Abstract:
The invention relates to a self-plasticizing silicon nitride ceramic wire planishing roll material and the manufacture method. The process includes the following steps: adding ytterbium oxide powder into alpha silicon nitride, adding absolute ethyl alcohol or acetone to make slurry, ball milling and drying, sintering in nitrogen gas at high temperature to gain beta-Si3N4 seed crystal; mixing the alpha phase silicon nitride, rare earth oxide, beta-Si3 N4, adding absolute ethyl alcohol or acetone to make slurry, ball milling and drying, sintering in nitrogen gas at high temperature and cooling to room temperature, the material would be gained. The planishing roll material made by the method would have high tenacity, high intension, good rigidity and strong abrasion resistance.
